Closure Automation / Orientation: Cap Inspection – Cocked Cap, No Cap, Dud Detectors
Dillin’s cap inspection systems are engineered to detect closure anomalies with precision and speed—ensuring packaging integrity across high-throughput production lines. Whether identifying cocked caps, missing closures, or seal failures due to vacuum loss, these systems provide automated quality control that minimizes labor and maximizes uptime.
Designed for seamless integration with Dillin’s capping systems and conveyance solutions, our detectors support both inline and rotary configurations and are built to withstand demanding industrial environments.
Inspection Models
- Model 66-400 Cocked Cap Detector is designed to detect containers with cocked or high caps (metal or plastic) and eject the container from the conveyor.
- Model 147-100 Cocked Cap/No Cap Detector is designed to detect containers with cocked or high caps (metal or plastic) or the absence of a cap and eject the container from the conveyor.
- Model 74-800 Dud Detector is designed to detect containers that have lost vacuum due to seal failure (metal or plastic) and eject the container from the conveyor.
Applications & Integration
From beverage bottling and food packaging to pharmaceutical and personal care lines, Dillin’s inspection systems are trusted across industries where closure integrity is non-negotiable. These units mount directly over existing conveyors and operate downstream from rotary cappers or closure orientation modules, forming a closed-loop inspection and rejection system that safeguards product quality and line efficiency.
Systems are available in single-lane or multi-lane configurations and can be customized for container type, line speed, and environmental requirements—including washdown zones and cleanroom conditions. Optional PLC controls and integration-ready I/O allow seamless communication with upstream and downstream equipment, including reject stations, data logging systems, and line monitoring software.
Whether you’re retrofitting an existing line or designing a new facility, Dillin’s inspection units offer modular flexibility, robust construction, and precision detection capabilities that meet the demands of high-volume, compliance-driven operations.
stainless steel construction ensures compatibility with washdown zones and GMP-compliant facilities.
